Bolton handed QPR a 4-0 thrashing in their return to the top flight after 15 years. Goals from Cahill, Klasnic, Muamba and an own goal from QPR defender Danny Gabbidon saw Bolton finish the day at the top of the league. The Hoops finished the match with ten men after defender Clint Hill was sent of, after receiving his second yellow card of the match in the 90th minute.
