Sunderland have become the latest club to express their interest in Blackburn defender Scott Dann. The Black Cats are targeting Dann as manager Martin O'Neill looks to bolster his defensive options following a knee injury suffered by Wes Brown in a preseason friendly match against Groningen. Sunderland are prepared to propose a bid of £5 million for the 25 year old who has impressed during his time at Birmingham and was a key member of Steve Keane's Rovers side which suffered relegation last season. Sunderland face tough competition for the Rovers defender, with Norwich, Southampton and Newcastle all determined to land Dann's signature.
