Sunderland reveal Dann interest


Sunderland have become the latest club to express their interest in Blackburn defender Scott Dann. The Black Cats are targeting Dann as manager Martin O'Neill looks to bolster his defensive options following a knee injury suffered by Wes Brown in a preseason friendly match against Groningen. Sunderland are prepared to propose a bid of £5 million for the 25 year old who has impressed during his time at Birmingham and was a key member of Steve Keane's Rovers side which suffered relegation last season. Sunderland face tough competition for the Rovers defender, with Norwich, Southampton and Newcastle all determined to land Dann's signature.

Wolves reject West Ham's bid for midfielder Matt Jarvis


Wolves have turned down a bid from West Ham for winger Matt Jarvis. Jarvis' future is in doubt following Wolves relegation from the Barclays Premier League last season and they face a battle to keep hold of their star man, who has attraced intrest from many premier league clubs. Its beilieved that West Ham's rejected bid is in the region of  £6 million, rising up to £9 million with add ons. Jarvis' team mate Steven Fletcher has also been linked with a move away from Molineux. Fletcher handed in a transfer request followng interest from Sunderland, however, despite Wolves' relegation from the top flight at the end of last  season,  chief excutive Jez Moxey insists they are under no financial preasure to sell their best players. Moxey is determined to keep hold of  Wolves' best players.

Moxey: "As we have previously stated, no player will leave Wolves unless the club's valuation is met and it is in our best interests from a football perspective."We wish to retain our best players, we are not under any financial pressure to sell. Players will remain here unless we receive satisfactory offers. "These are challenging situations for all parties, but we will continue to conduct our business in a respectful manner and will honour all of our commitments "We hope, and expect, other parties to do likewise."

Rooney would welcome RVP arrival at Old Trafford



Manchester United appear to be leading the race to sign Dutch striker Robin Van Persie and Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney belives that Van Persie would be a great addition for United next season. If Van Persie joins United then Sir Alex will have plenty of attacking options available for selection. Rooney is an admirer of Van Persie and believes that he and Van Persie are capable of forming a deadly partnership up front.

Rooney on Van Persie: "Of course he's a player that I admire,""He's a fantastic player. He's been amazing for Arsenal over many years. Last season was probably his best season of all. He scored a lot of goals."If he does come here he would be a great addition to the squad."

Rooney on forming a deadly partnership with RVP: "I'd like to think so - but you'd have to ask the manager about that. "There's a lot of forwards here already with myself, Welbeck, Chicharito and Berbatov, who's still here. "So there's a lot of forwards fighting for a place."
